Welcome back!
[edit]I really missed you since you had been mostly gone since early (as in pre-COVID) 2020, but while I was looking for an AFD to consider, I just noticed you returned to regular editing last month, so welcome back! NGL I'm also a WIR regular who was gone around the same time (albeit due to a block I recovered from almost two years ago), but I'm back too. It's good to have you back and it's good to be back. ミラP@Miraclepine 03:58, 3 January 2025 (UTC)
- @Miraclepine: Thank you very much! I was studying as well as working in 2020, and then unwell in 2021, and it's taken me a while to get back here. It's great that you're also back! RebeccaGreen (talk) 07:01, 3 January 2025 (UTC)
- Same here! I don't have a job (let alone a 9 to 5), but I still have a family to hang out with as well as school to deal with, so I won't be as active as I would like to. In fact, I have a Zoom session to go to in about 15 minutes. Hopefully I can be as great a help to WIR as I can. ミラP@Miraclepine 15:46, 3 January 2025 (UTC)
Speedy deletion nomination of Ildiko Kovacs
[edit]Hello RebeccaGreen,
I wanted to let you know that I just tagged Ildiko Kovacs for deletion, because it's a redirect from an article title to a namespace that's not for articles.
If you don't want Ildiko Kovacs to be deleted, you can contest this deletion, but don't remove the speedy deletion tag from the top.
You can leave a note on my talk page if you have questions. Thanks!

For your awesome work on Betty Henderson and for your continuous work on the biographies of women! gidonb (talk) 14:54, 16 January 2025 (UTC) |
- Thank you very much, gidonb! Not exactly continuous, as I've been away from Wikipedia for a few years, but I do enjoy finding sources to build up biographies. RebeccaGreen (talk) 05:38, 18 January 2025 (UTC)
Speedy deletion nomination of Meyer Schleifer
[edit]Many thanks for your work on this page.
I was the original author of the page over ten years ago.
There have been ongoing efforts to slowly remove various Bridge biographies. I do not go on Wikipedia much any more because of this type of harassment and have often missed the 7 day window to comment.
- Thank you, Nicolas.hammond. I have not been on Wikipedia much for a few years, for various reasons. As I said in this AfD discussion, I know nothing about bridge, but I don't like seeing biographies deleted for lack of searching digitised newspapers that I have access to. I can understand your wish to avoid deletion campaigns. I see that you have tried to establish subject-specific notability guidelines for bridge, but the only responses required "extensive evidence that SIGCOV can be presumed for >90% of individuals". I wouldn't think that would be that hard to find, but it would be timeconsuming. Best wishes, RebeccaGreen (talk) 05:56, 18 January 2025 (UTC)

[edit] Please do not attack other editors, as you did at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Dean Kaelin. Comment on content, not on contributors. Personal attacks damage the community and deter users. Please stay cool and keep this in mind while editing. Thank you. Bbb23 (talk) 16:22, 6 February 2025 (UTC)
- It was a genuine question, which you haven't answered, not an attack. RebeccaGreen (talk) 16:26, 6 February 2025 (UTC)
- Sorry, it was not a "genuine question". Without any real evidence, you accused me and the other editor of being socks. Your only evidence was that I removed unsourced material from an article and the other editor then nominated it for deletion.--Bbb23 (talk) 16:38, 6 February 2025 (UTC)
Dean Kaelin
[edit]Thank you for taking another look at the page. I looked at other similar pages to make sure content, tone, etc. was the same, but basically all the info I put on there was deleted. It looks like you have extensive background creating pages for similar people, so I would love any feedback you have! Thanks again! Anna.kaelin (talk) 15:05, 7 February 2025 (UTC)

[edit] Please stop. If you continue to assume bad faith when dealing with other editors, as you did at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Patrick Brayer, you may be blocked from editing. Assume that they are here to improve rather than harm Wikipedia. Your comment about the timing of my AfD nomination was not appropriate. I would encourage you to strike your remark directed at me. Thank you. Magnolia677 (talk) 14:50, 2 March 2025 (UTC)
- It was not directed at you personally - as I said, "I have commented on other AfDs that I don't understand why new articles are nominated for deletion the same day they appear." That is not personally directed at you. WP:ATD is part of Wikipedia:Deletion policy. I have noticed and commented on the speed with which new articles are brought to AfD in several discussions. Where do you suggest I express my concerns about that, if not in the discussions? RebeccaGreen (talk) 15:01, 2 March 2025 (UTC)
- Your scolding was not appropriate. I would encourage you to strike your remark directed at me. Magnolia677 (talk) 15:13, 2 March 2025 (UTC)

Today: Carmen turns 150, as the main page and my story tell you. I chose a 1962 concert of the Habanera, - enjoy! -- Gerda Arendt (talk) 19:02, 3 March 2025 (UTC)
On Ravel's birthday, we also think of a conductor and five more composers ;) --Gerda Arendt (talk) 19:54, 7 March 2025 (UTC)
Today I could have written five stories off the main page, and chose Sofia Gubaidulina. I find the TFA also interesting, and two DYK, and a birthday OTD. How about you? --Gerda Arendt (talk) 22:22, 16 March 2025 (UTC)
Today: an opera, 100 years old OTD, on Bach's birthday. --Gerda Arendt (talk) 22:03, 21 March 2025 (UTC)
Today, 300 years of Wie schön leuchtet der Morgenstern, BWV 1! We sang works for (mostly) double choir by Pachelbel, Johann Christoph Bach, Kuhnau/Bach, Gounod and Rheinberger! --Gerda Arendt (talk) 12:41, 25 March 2025 (UTC)
Thank you
[edit]RebeccaGreen - just a thank you for your tireless work on the article about Patrick Brayer. You found materials I wasn't aware of. As I mentioned in one of my comments in the talk on this - most of his work predates real internet activity. I've felt for a long time that his influence on modern bluegrass was underrecognized. I appreciate your efforts. Zutano999 (talk) 13:00, 5 March 2025 (UTC)
- Thank you, @Zutano999. I enjoy digging to find sources, and I'm happy when I can find enough sources and information to support an article, particularly on a pre-internet subject. RebeccaGreen (talk) 11:32, 19 May 2025 (UTC)
Draft:Steve Millhouse
[edit]Hi Rebecca Green. I would like to thank you for your help with the articles on Philippe Baden Powell and Steve Millhouse. I wanted to ask you what else needs to be improved for the Steve Millhouse article to be moved back to the main space?--Марко Станојевић (talk) 22:59, 13 March 2025 (UTC)

Refbombs and writing backwards
[edit]In Kaye_Tuckerman#Career you added 6 refs after the sentence: Tuckerman is best known for her portrayal of Donna Sheridan in a tour of Mamma Mia! across North America from 2010 to 2012.
I was able to check 5 of them and those do not support the claim.
This often happens when people write WP:BACKWARDS; they use a WP:REFBOMB in order to convince you that what they write is true, even though none of the sources actually support the claim. But that is WP:OR/WP:SYNTH.
The only source I was unable to check was this one, please check if it actually supports the claim that that is what she is best known for. Thanks, Polygnotus (talk) 05:09, 25 April 2025 (UTC)
I looked at this bit:
She also played significant roles in Wicked (2019), Absinthe and Dusty – The Original Pop Diva, and has been a member of the ensemble in Summer: The Donna Summer Musical (Broadway, 2018).
Can you explain why you think that those sources support the claim that Tuckerman played significant roles in those things? Polygnotus (talk) 05:19, 25 April 2025 (UTC)

A barnstar for you!

The Tireless Contributor Barnstar |
Thank you for your hard work, both in general and on Kaye Tuckerman. Rebecca, please keep that article on your watchlist, as COI editors will likely return and add promotional material. In general, I'd recommend you to not rescue articles once it becomes clear that paid editing is involved. You can always recreate them a few months later and let them be deleted per WP:TNT. Hope that makes sense. Gheus (talk) 19:39, 14 May 2025 (UTC) |
- Thank you very much for the barnstar, @Gheus! I have now added that article to my watchlist. I was not aware that UPE until you mentioned it here. I looked at the content of the article and then searched for sources about the subject, who seemed to me to meet notability criteria. The creator of the article made no further edits to the article after moving it to mainspace, so it was not a case of a creator reinserting promotional wording that other editors removed, and I didn't (and don't) think it was bad enough to need TNT. However, I will try to be more alert to creators' possible motives. RebeccaGreen (talk) 11:52, 19 May 2025 (UTC)
James Nunn
[edit]Hello. I just wanted to say thanks so much for your detective work and then input on the James Nunn (artist) AfD, and I'm very pleased that the result was keep. I thought it was a nice little article that it would have been a pity to lose. Cheers, SunloungerFrog (talk) 11:54, 15 May 2025 (UTC)
