Feet placement

assembly
Feet
Embroider the hind paw details onto the foot. Cut yarn (approximately 20") in the accent color and thread it through the tapestry
needle. Create the large circle at the bottom of the foot using Rounds 2 to 3 as a guide. Embroider a straight line to create the center
of the circle. Go back and forth with the yarn along the same line to create a circle. See Photos C and D.
After finishing the large circle, embroider the toe beans with the remaining yarn. Evenly space out 3 spots on the foot and place 2 sts
per toe bean. Thread the yarn back out to where you started and tie a knot. Weave in the yarn end into the foot. See Photo E.
Using the yarn tail from when you created the foot, thread the yarn to the back side of the foot at Round 2. Place the feet so that they
are turned outward and sew them flat onto the Body towards the outer edges. Use Rounds 3 to 5 of the Body as a guide. See above.

Eyes
Embroider eyes at Rounds 5 and 6 approximately 2 sts tall and 8 sts apart.
Have fun with the eye colors! Try using black for the pupils and a colored yarn for the
outside, or use a colored yarn for the pupil with a white outline!

Ears
Attach ears using Rounds 2 and 5 as a guide. They should end up right in the middle of the
spots for the calico cat. See Photo G. Photo G
The ears should be separated by Round 1 of the head.

Nose
Embroider the nose at the center of the head using Rounds 6 and 7 as a guide.
Create a horizontal line approximately 2 sts wide. Go over this line 3 times to make the nose.
From the middle of the nose, create a vertical line approximately 1 - 2 sts tall. See Photo H.

Directions for crocheted eyes
Use 2 colors of worsted weight yarn with 5.5 mm hook.
Color 1 is for the pupil (shown in blue) and Color 2 is for the outside (shown in white).
Start with C1.

Round 1 - sc 10 in a magic circle (10); CC to C2; do not cut C1 yarn.

Round 2 - sl st, sc, 4 hdc, sc, sl st (8); this is an incomplete round to have 2 sts of C1 left over.

Leave a long tail for both C1 and C2 to sew onto the head. Use C1 yarn to sew on the pupil
part that is left and C2 yarn to sew on the rest of the eye. See Photo I.
Optional: use white worsted weight yarn to create the sparkle in the eyes.
Sew onto the head using Rounds 5 and 8 as a guide. The eyes should be sewn on Photo I
approximately 1 st away from the nose on each side.
