INTRODUCTION
The sweater is worked seamlessly from the top down with raglan increases. You
begin by casting on stitches and working back and forth with increases to shape
the neckline opening. Then the shoulders are joined by the front neck, and the
yoke is knitted in the round with raglan increases. Afterwards, the sleeve stitches
are placed on hold, before the body is completed. The neckline ribbing is worked
by picking up stitches along the cast on edge, while the sleeves are worked
separately in the end.

We recommend making a swatch to check that your knitting tension meets the
gauge in the pattern. If you have too many stitches than the given gauge per 10
cm, you need to use larger needles. If you have fewer stitches, you need to use
smaller needles.

For this garment, you will need 40 cm and 80 cm circular needles, the suggested
needle sizes are 7.0 and 8.0 mm (or the sizes needed to meet the gauge). If you
don't want to use magic loop, you will need Double Pointed Needles in the same
sizes.

Note that the measurements in the pattern are indicative. Try the garment on to
tailor it to your body.

Increases that slant towards the left and right are worked like this:
M1L (make 1 left): Pick up the strand between two stitches from the front with
your left needle. Insert your right needle through the back loop purlwise and knit.
M1R (make 1 right): Pick up the strand between two stitches from the back with
your left needle. Insert your right needle in the front loop knitwise and knit as
usual.

YOKE
Using 80 cm circular needles (suggested 8.0 mm), cast on 47 stitches using the
long-tail method.

Purl across all stitches.

You are now on a right side row, and will set up for raglan increases.

Use eight stitch markers and set up the sweater into the different parts as
follows: 2 stitches (left front piece), 1 raglan stitch, 10 stitches (left sleeve), 1
raglan stitch, 19 stitches (back piece), 1 raglan stitch, 10 stitches (right sleeve), 1
raglan stitch, 2 stitches (right front piece).

Place one stitch marker at each comma (,)

The yoke is now worked back and forth in stockinette stitch with increases on
each right side row both to shape the neckline opening and increases at each of
the four raglan stitches.

Note: A raglan stitch is just an ordinary stitch, and is knitted on each right side
row and purled on wrong side rows. Increases are worked on each side of this
stitch.

Throughout the pattern we refer to these as "raglan increases". They are worked
as follows: *Knit until the marker, M1R, slip marker, knit the raglan stitch, slip
marker, M1L.* Repeat from * to * three more times until you have increased on
both sides of all four raglan stitches (= 8 stitches increased).

Row 1 (right side): Knit 1, M1L (neckline shaping), work raglan increases as
described above, knit until 1 stitch left, M1R (neckline shaping), knit 1 (= 10 stitches
increased).

5
Row 2 (wrong side): Purl across all stitches.

Repeat rows 1-2 until you have worked a total of 2 rows with increases and have a
total of 67 stitches: 6 stitches (left front piece), 1 raglan stitch, 14 stitches (left
sleeve), 1 raglan stitch, 23 stitches (back piece), 1 raglan stitch, 14 stitches (right
sleeve), 1 raglan stitch, 6 stitches (right front piece).

You have now shaped the neckline opening, and will join the left and right front
piece at the front neck and work the sweater in the round with raglan increases
as such: Work raglan increases and knit remaining stitches (= 8 stitches
increased).

Using the backwards loop method, cast on 11 stitches at the end of the right
needle.

Place a marker here to mark the beginning of the round.

You now have a total of 86 stitches: 25 stitches (front piece), 1 raglan stitch, 16
stitches (left sleeve), 1 raglan stitch, 25 stitches (back piece), 1 raglan stitch, 16
stitches (right sleeve), 1 raglan stitch.

Knit 1 round.

6
The yoke is now worked in the round with raglan increases on every other round
as such:

Round 1: Work raglan increases, knit remaining stitches.

Round 2: Knit all stitches.

Work round 1-2 a total of 14 (15) 17 (19) 21 (22) times (in total 17 (18) 20 (22) 24
(25) raglan increases are worked).

Size XL and XXL:

You will now continue to work raglan increases only for the body as such:

Round 1: Knit to the first stitch marker, M1R, knit the raglan stitch, knit the stitches
for the sleeve and the next raglan stitch, M1L. Repeat this one more time (= 4
stitches increased, 2 for the front- and 2 for the back piece).

Round 2: Knit all stitches

Work round 1-2 a total of 2 (3) times.

All sizes:
You now have 198 (206) 222 (238) 262 (274) stitches on the needle: 53 (55) 59
(63) 71 (75) stitches (front piece), 1 raglan stitch, 44 (46) 50 (54) 58 (60) stitches
(left sleeve), 1 raglan stitch, 53 (55) 59 (63) 71 (75) stitches (back piece), 1 raglan
stitch, 44 (46) 50 (54) 58 (60) stitches (right sleeve), 1 raglan stitch.

7
BODY
The stitches for the sleeves will now be placed on hold while you continue to
work the body in the round. This is done as such:

Knit until the first marker by the raglan stitch at the front piece. Remove the
marker, knit the raglan stitch (this belongs to the body), and remove the next
marker.

Place the next 44 (46) 50 (54) 58 (60) stitches on hold on a stitch wire or scrap
yarn (these make up the left sleeve) and use the backwards loop method to cast
on 6 stitches. Remove the markers and knit the raglan stitch.

Knit the stitches for the back piece and do the same on this side (remove
markers and knit raglan stitch).

Place the next 44 (46) 50 (54) 58 (60) stitches on hold on a stitch wire or scrap
yarn (these make up the right sleeve), before casting on 6 stitches using the
backwards loop method. Knit the raglan stitch and remove the remaining
markers.

Place a marker to mark the beginning of the round in the middle of the stitches
cast on at the left underarm. You now have 122 (126) 134 (142) 158 (166) stitches
on the needle.

Work in the round in stockinette stitch (knit every round) until the body
measures 46 (46) 48 (54) 58 (62) cm (or until the desired length) measured mid
back from the cast on edge. Change to 80 cm circular needle 7.0 mm and work 6
cm in 1x1 ribbing (knit 1, purl 1).

Bind off all stitches (we recommend using Italian bind off).

8
NECKLINE RIBBING
The neckline ribbing is worked by picking up stitches and knitting stitches along
the cast on edge.

Using needle size 7.0 mm (40 cm), begin picking up stitches in the raglan stitch
between the back piece and the right shoulder. Pick up one stitch in each stitch
along the neckline, but skip every third stitch where you increased to shape the
neckline until you have approximately 62 stitches on the needle.

To ensure a smooth transition between the shoulder and front piece, we advise
to pick up stitches one stitch further in rather than right along the edge.

Place a marker to mark the beginning of the round.

Work 4 cm in 1x1 ribbing (knit 1, purl 1).

Bind off all stitches loosely (we recommend using Italian bind off).

9
SLEEVES
Transfer the held stitches onto circular needles 8.0 mm (40 cm).

Join new yarn, and pick up and knit 6 stitches at the underarm. Place a marker
mid between these stitches to mark the beginning of the round. You now have 50
(52) 56 (60) 64 (66) stitches on the needle.

Join for working in the round and work in stockinette stitch until the sleeve
measures 36 (36) 38 (40) 40 (40) cm from the underarm (or until the desired
length).

Knit 2 stitches together (k2tog) the entire round. You now have 25 (26) 28 (30)
32 (33) stitches on the needle.

Only size XS and XXL:

Decrease one more stitch by knitting the first and second stitch together.

Change to needle size 7.0 mm (80 cm with Magic Loop) and work 8 cm in 1x1
ribbing (knit 1, purl 1).

Bind off (we recommend using Italian bind off).

Work the other sleeve in the same way.

Weave in loose ends.
