GUJO COLLAR

Gujo collar is a warm and soft cowl to keep you warm all winter.
Knitted in classic half-fisherman’s rib with visible decreases on the front
and back. The large neck has quite a dramatic effect but is also functional
to be pulled up as a hood to keep your head and ears warm.
The longer front piece will keep your chest warm. The collar can be worn
underneath or on top of a coat.

PATTERN BEGINS HERE_________________________________________

CO 120 sts on a 4.5 mm / US 7 needle with the Italian CO.


First st is a K st.
First 2 rows are worked flat:
Row 1 & 2: *k1, sl 1 wyif; repeat from * to last st. p1.

Join in the round carefully without twisting the work, and place a marker (m) for
BOR. Work as below:
Rnd 1: k all.
Rnd 2: *K1, p1-b; rep from * to BOR
Rep Rnds 1 & 2 for pattern until work measures approx. 28 cm / 11”, finish with
Rnd 2.

Divide the work into 4 sections: back, 2 shoulders, and front. Place 4 markers as
shown in the diagram below before the next Rnd; 25sts, pm, 11 st, pm, 49 sts,
pm, 11st, pm, 24sts, pm for BOR (BOR-m).

DOUBLE INCREASES TO CREATE SHOULDERS
**As indicated above in the diagram with *, k24 (or 1 st before m) kyok, sm,
k11, sm, kyok, k47, kyok (or 1 st before marker), sm, k11, sm, kyok, k23 to
BOR.

Next Rnd: Work” Rnd 2” of the Half-Fisherman’s Rib in the round. Make sure
to match the sts pattern from the above, so you have the continuous rib pattern.
Work new sts from the Double Increase (kyok) as K1, P1, K1. **

A totalt from **-** for a total of 6 times, ending with second Rnd. Total of 168
sts. 73sts each for back and front, 11sts for each shoulder.
Break the yarn.

DIVIDE CIRCULAR WORK INTO 2 PIECES


BACK PIECE

Divide work into back, shoulders, and front pieces and work flat:
Remove BOR-m and move 36 sts on the right side of BOR-m (back right side)
onto the same needle as the back left side sts. Also, move 1 st from each shoulder

Finish with Italian BO: bind off the first 2 sts and the last 2sts as 1st.

THE SHOULDERS
Place the 9 shoulder sts onto a 4.5 mm needle, BO with Italian BO.
Arrange 93 sts from a holder to a 4.5 mm needle. Connect the yarn and work it in
