Private and Corporate Events At The NLI

A Unique Event Full of History and Culture

The National Library of Israel in Jerusalem is much more than a library—it is a unique experience. Designed by world-renowned architects Herzog & de Meuron, the Library’s new building was selected by CNN as one of the ten most beautiful buildings opened worldwide in 2023. The structure seamlessly blends tradition with innovation, featuring breathtaking design elements such as Jerusalem stone walls, distinctive furnishings, and spacious areas for reading, exhibitions, and events. Designed to provide both a sense of openness and tranquility, the building also offers exceptional functionality.

Beyond its stunning architecture, the Library adds a deeper dimension to any event through its historical and cultural significance. As a national institution dedicated to knowledge and heritage, it provides a unique setting for gatherings. Its central location in the heart of Jerusalem—adjacent to the Knesset and the Israel Museum—with convenient access to public transportation and a parking lot with over 300 spaces, makes it an ideal venue for both professional and private events.

The Library offers a state-of-the-art auditorium with 480 seats, a plenary hall with 170 seats, and various smaller spaces suitable for groups of different sizes.

Beyond the Venue

Enhance your event with a customized private tour, taking your guests on a fascinating journey through the National Library’s treasures of culture and knowledge. The tour includes access to the permanent exhibition, A Treasury of Words, which showcases rare and extraordinary items, including a thousand-year-old Torah scroll (the Damascus Crown or Keter), the first printed Talmud, a 9th-century Quran, and original manuscripts by S.Y. Agnon, Rabbi Kook, Naomi Shemer, David Grossman, and many others. Visitors can also explore rotating exhibitions, such as Kafka: Metamorphosis of an Author, on display until June 2025, featuring never-before-seen items from Franz Kafka’s estate.

In addition to the tour, you can enrich your event with a private lecture by one of the Library’s curators, offering a behind-the-scenes look at the collection and preservation of rare artifacts. Alternatively, you can include an interactive hands-on workshop inspired by antique manuscripts, led by the Library’s visitor center. Each activity is tailored to the audience, providing cultural and intellectual depth that transforms any event into an unforgettable experience.
