Remote Access to Archival Materials

Online remote access to archival materials is available for registered users of the library for self-study, teaching and research purposes only.

The development of the application enabling remote access to archival materials was initiated and funded by the Cluster of Excellence ‘Understanding Written Artefacts’ at the Centre for the Study of Manuscript Cultures (CSMC), University of Hamburg.

Remote access is only possible to archival materials that meet the following criteria:

  • are available in digital format, i.e., have been scanned or are originally digital;

  • are not subject to contractual limitations.

The authorization is valid for one month. A new request can be submitted at the end of the month.
