and t in seconds. Calculate the angular

PROBLEM NO. 21
Gas is escaping from a spherical balloon at the
rate of 2 ft3/min. How fast is the surface area
shrinking when the radius is 12 ft?

PROBLEM NO. 22
Water is running out of a conical funnel at the
rate of 1 in3/sec. If the radius of the base of the
funnel is 4 in and the altitude is 8 in, find the rate
at which the water level is dropping when it is 2
in from the top?

A statue 3 m high is standing on a base of 4 m
high. If an observers eye is 1.5 m above the
ground, how far should he stand from the base in
order that the angle subtended by the statue is a
maximum.

A balloon is released from the ground 100 meters
from an observer. The balloon rises directly
upward at the rate of 4 meters per second. How
fast is the balloon receding from the observer 10
seconds later?

A standard cell has an emf E of 1.2 V. If the
resistance R of the circuit is increasing at the
rate of 0.03 ohm/sec, at what rate is the current
I changing at the instant when the resistance is
