1) Electromagnetic induction occurs when the magnetic flux through a circuit changes, inducing an emf in the circuit. 2) When a current-carrying coil moves towards a stationary coil, the direction of the induced current in the stationary coil is clockwise. When the current-carrying coil moves away, the induced current direction is counterclockwise. 3) According to Faraday's laws of electromagnetic induction, an emf is induced whenever the magnetic flux through a circuit changes. The induced emf generates an induced current while the circuit is closed.
