Panthers Continue To Struggle On Power Play At Home

Top Maple Leafs News

  • Maple Leafs' Bobby McMann: Nabs assist in Game 7 loss

McMann produced an assist, three shots on goal and five hits in Sunday's 6-1 loss to the Panthers in Game 7.

McMann had two assists over the last two games of the playoffs. In total, he picked up three helpers, 18 shots on net, 49 hits, 16 PIM and a minus-2 rating in 13 postseason outings while filling a third-line role. McMann can do better than that, though this was his first year of playoff experience. He had 20 goals and 34 points in 74 regular-season outings and should be a viable depth pick in fantasy for 2025-26.

  • Maple Leafs' Max Domi: Nets lone goal in loss

Domi scored a goal and added three hits in Sunday's 6-1 loss to the Panthers in Game 7.

Domi's tally 2:07 into the third period gave the Maple Leafs a brief hope of a comeback, cutting the Panthers' lead to 3-1 at the time. Those hopes were quickly dashed, as Eetu Luostarinen tipped in a goal 47 seconds later, allowing Florida to cruise into the Eastern Conference Finals. Domi put up three goals, four assists, 19 shots on net, 17 hits, 33 PIM and a plus-2 rating over 13 playoff appearances while primarily serving as Toronto's third-line center.

  • Maple Leafs' Joseph Woll: Holds fort, then fades in loss

Woll stopped 28 of 33 shots in Sunday's 6-1 loss to the Panthers in Game 7. The sixth goal was an empty-netter.

Woll was under siege for a large portion of the first period, but he was able to get the game to the first intermission with no goals on the board. The Panthers regrouped well and put three goals away in the second, and the Maple Leafs couldn't provide much of a response. Woll ends the postseason 3-4 with a 3.56 GAA and an .886 save percentage over seven games, all in the second round after Anthony Stolarz was knocked out of the series opener versus Florida due to an upper-body injury. Heading into 2025-26, it's likely the Maple Leafs will run it back with Woll and Stolarz as a tandem in goal, as the duo gave Toronto stability from the net out in the regular season.

  • Maple Leafs' Anthony Stolarz: Backing up in Game 7

Contrary to a prior report, Stolarz (upper body) will suit up as the backup for Sunday's Game 7 matchup against the Panthers, according to Terry Koshan of The Toronto Sun.

In a surprising turn of events, Stolarz will be an option in goal in the scenario that Joseph Woll falters or gets injured. The 31-year-old Stolarz was hurt in a 5-4 win in Game 1 but has been making strides in his recovery since then. The New Jersey native has a 4-2 record, 2.19 GAA and .901 save percentage over seven appearances in the 2025 Stanley Cup Playoffs.

  • Maple Leafs' Joseph Woll: Between pipes for Game 7

Woll will patrol the home crease in Game 7 against Florida on Sunday, per Luke Fox of Sportsnet.

Woll is coming off a 22-save performance in Friday's 2-0 shutout win over the Panthers in Game 6. He has a 3-3 record with a 3.28 GAA and an .893 save percentage across six appearances this postseason. However, Woll has been stellar in elimination games during his NHL playoff career, going 4-1 with a 1.13 GAA, a .958 save percentage and one shutout.

  • Maple Leafs' Anthony Stolarz: Remains unavailable

Stolarz (upper body) won't be an option for the Game 7 home matchup versus Florida on Sunday, Jonas Siegel of The Athletic reports.

Stolarz has been skating but still hasn't resumed practicing yet. He will miss his sixth straight game and still doesn't have an exact timeline for his return to the lineup. Joseph Woll will start in Game 7 versus the Panthers on Sunday, while Matt Murray will be the backup.

  • Maple Leafs' Matthew Knies: Ready to rock

Knies (undisclosed) will play in Game 7 against Florida on Sunday, per Kristen Shilton of ESPN.

Knies sustained an injury late in the first period during Friday's 2-0 win over the Panthers in Game 6. He didn't leave the contest but logged only 13:01 of playing time. However, Knies will see regular deployment in Game 7 against Florida while skating on the top line and seeing time on the first power-play combination. He has registered five goals, seven points, 29 shots on net, seven blocked shots and 31 hits through 12 appearances this postseason.

  • Maple Leafs' Bobby McMann: Ends lengthy slump with helper

McMann notched an assist and two hits in Friday's 2-0 win over the Panthers in Game 6.

The helper was McMann's second of the postseason, ending a 10-game slump after he supplied an assist in Game 1 of the first round versus the Senators. The 28-year-old winger has added 15 shots on net, 16 PIM, 44 hits and a minus-2 rating. McMann has found success in a larger role at times, and he may be an option to play in the top six if Matthew Knies (undisclosed) can't suit up in Sunday's Game 7. However, McMann's lack of offense compared to Max Pacioretty could cause the former to be held back on the third line.

  • Maple Leafs' Max Domi: Logs assist Friday

Domi provided an assist in Friday's 2-0 win over the Panthers in Game 6.

Domi has a helper in each of the last two contests. The 30-year-old forward has a goal and three assists over six games in the second round, but he's also racked up 29 PIM, with those trips to the sin bin being a point of criticism in his playing style. For the playoffs, he's at six points, 18 shots on net, 14 hits, 33 PIM and a plus-1 rating over 12 appearances.

  • Maple Leafs' Mitch Marner: Generates assist in Game 6 win

Marner notched an assist, two hits and two blocked shots in Friday's 2-0 win over the Panthers in Game 6.

Marner was roasted for his brutal turnover in a 6-1 loss in Game 5, but he made up for it partially by forcing a Panthers turnover to set up the opening goal Friday. The winger has a goal and four helpers over six second-round contests. He's now at two goals, 11 assists, 14 shots on net, 27 hits, 15 blocked shots and a plus-1 rating across 12 playoff outings.

  • Maple Leafs' Max Pacioretty: Adds insurance tally

Pacioretty scored a goal on three shots, added four hits and blocked two shots in Friday's 2-0 win over the Panthers in Game 6.

Pacioretty is up to two goals and six points over six games in the second round. His tally Friday gave the Maple Leafs a little more breathing room late in the third period as they managed to rebound from three straight losses to force Game 7. Pacioretty is up to eight points, 13 shots on net, 59 hits and a plus-3 rating over 10 playoff appearances. He could be a candidate to see more minutes if Matthew Knies (undisclosed) is unable to suit up in Sunday's Game 7.
