Rangers' Luke Jackson: Yields walk-off homer in blown save
Jackson (0-4) blew the save in Wednesday's 4-3 defeat to the Yankees, allowing one run on two hits in the ninth inning.
Jackson gave up a walk-off home run to Jasson Dominguez, taking his second blown save of the season. The veteran right-hander has worked as Texas' primary closer to open the campaign, but his 5.52 ERA, 1.57 WHIP and 13:8 K:BB over 14.2 innings likely loosens his grip on the gig and leaves the door open the door for the likes of Shawn Armstrong, Robert Garcia and Jacob Webb to see additional save chances in the future. Jackson missed some time with a swollen hand recently, and he's yielded six runs across his last 5.2 innings.

Rangers' Luke Jackson: Retakes mound Sunday
Jackson (hand) issued a walk and struck out a batter in a scoreless inning during Sunday's 4-3 loss to the Astros.
Jackson battled a swollen hand throughout the week after being hit by a comebacker May 12 against the Rockies, but he returned to the mound Sunday in a non-save situation. The right-hander didn't appear to have any lingering issues as he threw 10 of 15 pitches for strikes, and his average fastball velocity of 93.6 mph was only marginally lower than his season average. Shawn Armstrong picked up a pair of saves in his absence, but Jackson should reclaim primary closing duties now that he's healthy.

Rangers' Luke Jackson: Hand still swollen
Jackson's hand is still swollen Tuesday but he's optimistic he'll be able to avoid the injured list, Evan Grant of The Dallas Morning News reports.
Jackson reportedly has a decent amount of strength and is squeezing a stress ball after getting hit on the hand by a comebacker Monday. Jacob Webb got the save after Jackson exited, but Chris Martin or Robert Garcia could also be options to get saves while Jackson is unavailable.

Rangers' Luke Jackson: X-rays on hand return negative
Manager Bruce Bochy said after Monday's 2-1 win over the Rockies that X-rays on Jackson's right hand came back negative, Shawn McFarland of The Dallas Morning News reports.
Bochy noted that Jackson was dealing with some swelling on his hand after the lone batter he faced (Ryan McMahon) hit a line drive right back at him. The skipper suggested that a trip to the injured list could be on the table for Jackson, but the club will wait and see how the right-hander recovers before a decision is made on that front. After McMahon reached on an infield single and Jackson was pulled from the game, Jacob Webb stepped in for the save chance. Webb induced a groundout and then loaded the bases by giving up a single and issuing a walk before he generated another groundball for a game-ending double play.

Rangers' Luke Jackson: Hit by comebacker
Jackson was removed from Monday's game against the Rockies after being struck by a line drive, Shawn McFarland of The Dallas Morning News reports.
Jackson entered the matchup in a save situation, but he was unable to record an out after a line drive off the bat of Ryan McMahon forced Jackson from the game. He appeared to get hit on his right arm and walked off the field following a brief conversation with the team trainer. The club should have another update on the closer's status after further evaluation. Jacob Webb was called upon in Jackson's place and managed to register the save.

Rangers' Luke Jackson: Stuck with loss
Jackson (0-3) took the loss in Sunday's 3-2 defeat to the Giants, allowing an unearned run on one hit while failing to record an out.
Jackson entered in the ninth trying to preserve a 2-2 tie and send the game to extra innings. His outing lasted one pitch as Heliot Ramos reached on an infield single and then turned it into a little-league homer thanks to two throwing errors by the Rangers. It was the second loss for Jackson in his last three appearances, but he's still converted eight of nine save chances and has a 3.38 ERA and 1.22 WHIP this year.

Rangers' Luke Jackson: Bounces back with eighth save
Jackson struck out one in a scoreless two-thirds of an inning to record his eighth save of the season in Friday's 2-0 win over the Giants.
Robert Garcia remained on the mound to begin the ninth inning and struck out Jung Hoo Lee before handing the ball over to Jackson, who took care of right-handed batters Matt Chapman and Wilmer Flores. It was a nice bounce-back effort for Jackson after he blew his first save of the season Thursday, but it likely leaves him unavailable for Saturday if Texas has another late lead to protect. Through 10.2 innings on the year, Jackson sports a 3.38 ERA, 1.13 WHIP and 8:3 K:BB.

Rangers' Luke Jackson: First blown save in second loss
Jackson (0-2) was charged with the loss and a blown save in Thursday's 4-3 loss to the Athletics, giving up two runs (one earned) on two hits and one walk in one inning. He struck out one.
Jackson entered the game with a runner on base in the eighth inning and put out Brent Rooker to protect a 3-2 lead, but trouble arose in the ninth frame. The first of his two runs allowed was unearned due to a Leody Taveras fielding error, but Jacob Wilson's walk-off single saddled Jackson with his first blown save of the year. The veteran right-hander has still converted seven of his eight save chances to go with a respectable 3.60 ERA, 1.20 WHIP and 7:3 K:BB over 10 frames, so he figures to remain the favorite for ninth-inning work in Texas' bullpen for the time being, despite Thursday's showing.

Rangers' Luke Jackson: Collects seventh save
Jackson worked a perfect ninth inning Tuesday to record his seventh save of the season in an 8-5 win over the A's.
The veteran righty coaxed three groundballs out of the heart of the A's order to end the night. Jackson has reeled off nine straight scoreless appearances after a rough Opening Day, and on the season he's a perfect 7-for-7 in converting save chances with a 3.00 ERA, 1.00 WHIP and 6:2 K:BB in nine innings.

Rangers' Luke Jackson: Picks up sixth save
Jackson earned a save against the Angels on Wednesday, retiring all three batters he faced in the ninth inning.
Jackson made quick work of Los Angeles to protect a two-run lead in the ninth frame, as he needed just six pitches to get through the inning. The right-hander was rewarded with his sixth save of the campaign, though this was his first save (and first save opportunity) since April 5. Jackson is tied for third in MLB in saves on the season, and since giving up three runs in his season debut March 27, the right-hander hasn't surrendered any runs over his subsequent eight outings, covering 7.2 frames.
