Rockies' Michael Toglia: Drives in one in return to lineup
Toglia went 1-for-4 with a triple and an RBI on Saturday against the Yankees.
Toglia was held out of the lineup for three games spanning Wednesday to Friday to work on his approach at the plate. He returned to the lineup Saturday to drive in Colorado's only run with a triple in the fourth inning. Toglia has been in a season-long slump with few signs of turning it around, as he has gone just 12-for-65 (.184) with three homers, seven RBI and six runs scored across 20 games in May.

Rockies' Michael Toglia: Out of lineup again Friday
Toglia is absent from the lineup for Friday's game versus the Yankees.
Toglia is being given a break to work on his swing, as this is the third straight contest that he's been out of the lineup. It's not clear when the Rockies plan to return him to the batting order. Kyle Farmer is drawing a third straight start at first base Friday.

Rockies' Michael Toglia: Getting break to work on swing
Rockies interim manager Warren Schaeffer said that Toglia is out of the lineup again Thursday in order to work on his swing and approach, Patrick Saunders of The Denver Post reports.
Toglia is absent from the Rockies' lineup for a second straight day Thursday and the third time over the last six contests. However, it sounds like this is more of a reset for the first baseman rather than a demotion. Toglia is slashing only .205/.272/.367 with a league-leading 71 strikeouts this season.

Rockies' Michael Toglia: Out of lineup again Thursday
Toglia is not in the lineup for Thursday's contest against the Phillies.
It's the second straight day and third time over the last six games that Toglia has been absent from the Rockies' lineup. The switch hitter does not appear to be injured, so it could be that he's losing his grip on a starting job. Toglia leads all of baseball with 71 strikeouts this season and has struck out at a 41.7 percent clip in May. Kyle Farmer is at first base for a second straight day Thursday.

Rockies' Michael Toglia: Hitting bench Wednesday
Toglia is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Phillies.
Toglia has held down an everyday gig all season, but his grip on a full-time role could be starting to loosen a bit. He'll be on the bench for the second time in five games, with the Rockies once again turning to Kyle Farmer to replace him at first base. After mashing 25 home runs and reaching base at a .311 clip in 2024, Toglia has seen his slugging percentage and on-base percentage drop 89 and 39 points, respectively, from last season. Meanwhile, Toglia's strikeout rate sits at 38.6 percent so far in 2025, up more than six percentage points from a season ago.

Rockies' Michael Toglia: Not starting Saturday
Toglia isn't in the lineup for Saturday's game against the Diamondbacks.
An 0-for-3 performance Friday snapped Toglia's brief four-game hitting streak, and he'll now take a seat Saturday against Zac Gallen and the D-backs. Kyle Farmer will fill the opening at first base and bat fifth.

Rockies' Michael Toglia: Heating up in May
Toglia went 2-for-4 with a solo home run in Wednesday's 8-3 loss to Texas.
Toglia has now recorded at least one hit in five of his last six games, and he added his third home run in the month of May. The switch hitter now has six multi-hit efforts in 2025, and he's batting .281 with three long balls, two doubles and five RBI over his last 32 at-bats (nine games). Toglia's fantasy appeal gets a considerable boost when he plays at home, as evidenced by his .886 OPS across 75 at-bats at hitter-friendly Coors Field this year.

Rockies' Michael Toglia: Power coming around
Toglia went 1-for-3 with a solo home run and two walks Friday against the Padres.
Toglia has struggled to get going at the plate this season, though there have been some positive aspects to his performance across the last two weeks. Four of his five home runs have come in his last 13 games, and he's also delivered seven RBI and four runs scored. Despite that short-term success, he has just a .208 average with a 35.2 percent strikeout rate across 145 plate appearances on the campaign.

Rockies' Michael Toglia: Collects three XBHs in defeat
Toglia went 3-for-4 with a home run, two doubles, a walk and two total RBI in Wednesday's extra-inning loss to Detroit.
Toglia and teammate Ryan McMahon each had two doubles and a homer in the contest, and the pair combined for four RBI. Toglia's long ball was a 413-foot, two-run shot in the third inning that broke a 3-3 tie. This was a much-needed positive performance for the young first baseman -- coming into Wednesday, he had gone 0-for-12 with seven strikeouts over his first four games in May (all road contests in San Francisco).

Rockies' Michael Toglia: Continues to thrive at home
Toglia went 1-for-4 with a home run and an additional RBI in Tuesday's loss to Atlanta.
Toglia got the Rockies on the board in the second inning Tuesday with a solo shot, his third homer of the year. The slugging switch hitter now has at least one hit in nine of his last 12 outings, but Toglia's splits in home and away games could continue to define his overall fantasy appeal. Toglia is batting just .120 with one long ball, one double and four RBI over 50 at-bats on the road, but he's hitting .308 with two round trippers, three doubles and nine RBI across 52 at-bats at Coors Field.

Rockies' Michael Toglia: Snaps homer drought with grand slam
Toglia went 1-for-4 with a grand slam in a loss to the Dodgers on Wednesday.
Toglia showed promising power with 25 home runs over 116 games last season, but he came into Wednesday with no long balls and 29 strikeouts over 63 plate appearances this year. He couldn't cure his punchout woes Wednesday -- Toglia struck out three more times -- but he did get off the schneid in terms of power, slugging a grand slam off Bobby Miller in the third inning. Toglia's strikeout rate and .172 batting average remain problematic, but the Rockies have so far remained committed to him, putting him in the lineup at first base on a near-everyday basis.

Rockies' Michael Toglia: Remains without a homer in 2025
Toglia went 3-for-4 with an RBI double and a run scored in Thursday's 7-2 win over the Brewers.
Thursday marked just the second multi-hit effort of the year by Toglia, who plated a go-ahead run with a double into deep left-center field in the eighth inning. The switch-hitter has started each of Colorado's first 12 games at first base, but it's been a disappointing start to the season overall by Toglia, who smashed 25 home runs in just 116 outings in 2024. He's batting just .191 with zero home runs, a lone RBI and two walks over 50 plate appearances in 2025.

Rockies' Michael Toglia: Drops to sixth in order
Toglia will start at first base and bat sixth in Wednesday's game against the Phillies.
The first baseman began the season as the Rockies' No. 5 hitter, but he's been bumped down a spot for the last two contests while Colorado has moved the hot-hitting Hunter Goodman up in the lineup. Toglia has gotten off to a slow start to the season, going 1-for-15 with eight strikeouts through the Rockies' first four games.
