上記の記事を読んでいて初見だと誤解を生みそうだと思った点について書いてみる
記者の方の意図がこうかもしれないという補足情報を付けるのが目的である
誤解部分については知り合いが当該記事を読んでいたのでそれを参考にしつつ書いた
まずは記事中に次の文がある
だが、導入直後から表示内容の正確性に関する問題が生じている。例えば、米国のYouTuber、ハンク・グリーン氏の「アカウントの所在地」が「Japan」になっていたり、アイティメディアのNews編集部は所在地が日本なのだが、「国または地域は正確でない可能性があります」と表示されてしまったりしている

次のURLでプロフィールの「～からXを利用しています」を押すと詳細が見れる
確かにそれぞれ「国または地域は正確でない可能性があります」と表示されているが
このアカウントはプロキシ（VPNなど）経由で接続している可能性があるという表示もある
こんな記事の書き方をしているとは思えないので何か締切に追われていたのだろうか
軽く説明しておくとプロキシやVPNというのはインターネット通信を中継するもので
例えば企業の通信の盗聴などを防ぐセキュリティ施策の一環として用いられる
これを用いた場合本来の自分の所在地を隠すことも可能であるが悪用などは当然厳禁である
「アメリカからVPNで接続している」ということなので表示に間違いはなく
「正確性に関する問題が生じている」と言うのは誤解を招きそうだと感じた
それを言いたいならVPN表示が出ているハンク・グリーン氏以外を選ぶべきではないだろうか
記事中で注意書きを引用しているのでこれがVPNを使用している表示であることはわかってるはずなので
ビーア氏は、「いくつか粗削りな点がある」と認め、こうした問題は火曜日（11月24日）までに解消される見込みだと説明している。また、表示されるデータに誤りがある場合は、利用可能な最良の情報に基づいて後から更新していくとし、その更新はプライバシーを守るため「遅延かつランダムなスケジュール」で行うとしている。

これだけ抜き出せば話の流れとして「粗削りな点がある」というのは
記事の最初で言った「表示内容の正確性に関する問題がある」ともとれる
しかし続きの文を見てみよう

可能性を100%断言したくないという性格の人はいるためそういう手癖が出たのかもしれない
初見で記事の全体の流れを追うと次の流れのような誤解が生まれそうだと感じた

私の性格が細かいせいかもしれないが記事を読んでて誤解を生むと感じたので

それが信頼できるか気になるという意見もあるが
それが誤解を産んでいい理由にはならないため補足を入れた
この記事について長文を述べたがそれでも私はこの記事が書かれた行為自体はやや好意的だ
というのも大手新聞社などの大きなメディアが現時点ではこの件に触れておらず情報が殆ど得られなかった
数社はあったが客観的に見て大手メディアとは言えないネットメディアだったと思う
政治・日常の両面で影響範囲が大きく調べきれていないのが原因だろうか？
偉そうに言っている私もその辺りは全然調べきれていない
個人的には内容は微妙だったがどんな意見でもネット上に早い段階で情報を出してくれたのはありがたかった
本来は多数のメディアからニュースが出て比較検討した上で判断されるべきである
メディアとは公正な真実を権力者におもねることなく信頼性をもって伝えるのが責務であるため
事実上のインフラとなっているXで起きているこの影響力の大きい事態について
休日明けである今日あたりから大手メディア等も調査を終え現状を伝えてくれると信じている
ぶっちゃけここに限らず大半のメディアが同じような書き方をしているので
元ネタ確認できるようにURLなどは常に貼ってくれると個人的には非常に嬉しい
